As a 58 year old woman who still carry’s the scars from a rape at 16 this is a sad day in America. Our democracy is enshrined in our freedoms and rights. When I was 16 I got my first job in a grocery store. I was beyond excited. My manager 28 married with a new baby coaxed me into the back room after a customer store party where he fed me a few glasses of wine in plastic cups. Clearly I was under in the influence. Additionally I had lost my father at 7 so I had a certain attraction to father figures. Once in the basement he picked me up, split my pants and it was over within minutes. My survival instinct kicked in and I tied a meat jacket around my waist to cover the split in my beautiful purple pants. I was indeed pregnant and while it was confusing to me as a young adopted person who believed in life my mother was apoplectic and said she was making an appt for an abortion. Terrified I traveled with her to Boston among other women equally despondent and scared. If I had not had access to this medical procedure I can’t imagine where I would be. This has always been about the male need to dominate, control and decide all aspects of s woman’s life. This is 2022 not the dark ages. We are ready for the fight to ensure the power of the divine feminine in our world is firmly grounded, unapologetic, and loud. Our bodies, our right-PERIOD ❤️
